Progressive rock
Progressive rock and prog rock, progressive or progressive, as you wish, is a style of rock music, which is characterized by a certain kind of synthesis with other areas of musical art, giving explicit preference academic music, without neglecting the traditional and folk music, jazz and avant-garde. - Progressive rock music can be a long composition with a complex melody and harmony;
- Either composition of progressive rock showing their inclination toward cyclic forms, which, as a rule, academic music (even their names are relevant):
- Unusual musical instrument tuning, the use of non-traditional sound processing using a computer or other special devices, or use of unusual vocal styles accompanied by non-musical sound effects or even the involvement of entire orchestras and choirs - all this often indicates a stylistic identity composition.
Albums and collections of songs, claiming to belong to the genre will never look as separate, unrelated to each other composition. Conversely, a common theme will permeate them from the first to the last note. In the same vein will be performed and the decoration cover. Cannot be avoided and spectacular dramatized concert itself directly, if applicable. There will be started up in the course of all - exotic costumes, giant mirrors, laser show, light extravaganza, huge screens to showcase the background of the video - all this limit may be only the natural limitations of human perception.
On the other hand, the favorite themes of popular music entertainment are of no interest to progressive rock. Progressive rock interests only other things - philosophical poetry, devoid of any acute actuality, religious fantastic eternal themes in the form of veiled allegories or symbolic descriptions. Aesthetic content of this kind creates an additional round of complexity and diversity, raising the already high enough on the artistic level is unattainable heights.
Certainly is an indisputable fact that the apparent focus on progressive rock to constantly move forward, along with unlimited use of all the musical heritage of mankind accumulated over time in its existence, making it one of the most interesting trends in modern intellectual
